Self-Care in Doctoral Research: Shaping my supervision relationship
The series on self-care in doctoral research highlights aspects of everyday research life that can be perceived as oppressive,
frightening or conflict-loaded. The three hours format offers input, impulses and space to jointly develop strategies for doing a
doctorate productively and mindfully at the same time.

Course Description
A good supervisory relationship is one of the most crucial elements for a successful PhD journey – and yet, it can be marked by unspoken expectations, unclear roles, or even conflict. So how can you actively and constructively shape your relationship with your supervisor? What can (and should) you expect – and what is expected of you? This workshop offers a space to share experiences, reflect together, and explore how we can actively contribute to a more constructive and supportive supervision process. Rather than offering ready-made answers, the focus lies on mutual exchange: What has worked (or not worked) for others? Where do we face challenges? And how can we support each other in navigating this key relationship?
